Bernadette and Jen

Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28 1948) was an American actor, singer, and children's book author from Ozone Park Queens New York . Over the course of her career for five decades performing on stage, she's appeared in television and musicals along with solo shows as well as recorded recordings. She's received seven Tony Awards nominations, two of which she was awarded along with eight Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards have been won through four Broadway productions that Peters' role was featured on. Peters was a performer as a youngster on stage and was then acted in teenage roles in the 60s and the 1970s. Apart from her appearances on The Muppet Show, The Carol Burnett Show, and for other shows on TV, she also received praise for her roles she played in Annie and Silent Movie. In the 80s, she returned to the theatre which made her one of the top-respected Broadway actors over the next three years. Her singles have been released as well as six solos, many casts albums and performs regularly in solo concert acts. Peters, who has also continued acting in films and on TV where she won an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe. She was also nominated for three Emmy Awards.
